School Council

Our school council is made up of selected representatives from each class, three of these pupils are chosen to be the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Sports Representative and secretary .

 

Chairperson:

  • The Chairperson will run the meeting using the agenda
  •  Making sure that councillors who want to speak get the chance, as sometimes councillors can be shy
  •  Watch the time and make sure that all the items on the agenda have been discussed

Vice chairperson:

  • The Vice Chairperson will Chair the meeting should the Chairperson be unable too
  • The Vice Chairperson will run the meeting using the agenda
  • Making sure that councilors who want to speak get the chance, as sometimes councillors can be shy
  • Watch the time and make sure that all the items on the agenda have been discussed

Secretary:

  • Write down the key points of the meeting
  •  Will make sure every councillor has a copy of the minutes
  • Prepare the agenda for the next meeting
  • Will write down the names of people who are and are not at the meeting

Class representative (rep):

  • Reps are elected by their class to represent the pupils who elected them
  • They act as a link between their class and the school council
  • Reps have to be willing and able to put forward other peoples views even if they disagree with them

 

School Houses

 All of our pupils and school staff are part of one of our four houses: Ruby, Amber, Sapphire and Emerald.  Pupils are selected from each house for the positions of Captain and Vice Captain, we hold house meetings and give out certificates in weekly assemblies.
